'Setanta's prospects of survival are in the balance after the Premier League rejected a request from the broadcaster to defer a £60 million payment due at the end of this month' - Daily Telegraph.
Not looking good for Setanta. Anyone any ideas what will happen to the various football and golf rights they have if they go bust? Up for tender again? What about the various other channels they carry like Liverpool TV?

Think ITV had come clause with the FA to show all Englands Home games if setanta could show them but it was somethink like €40million for them rites. Bet sky will be reeling in more customers and charging even more unless some1 else fills setantas boots but I for one wish Setanta the best of luck and hope they can get something sorted to save their skins...

Underwhelmed by the idea of paying over 20 euro a month for 2nd rate motor sport. I think the writing is on the wall for Setanta unfortunately, wouldn't be totally convinced ITV would step into the breach as much as their contract binds them to do either.

Bringing us back to a choice of one again. Uncle Rupert's little company.

I wasnt pointing out that you should pay 20 per month for motor sport. Its more the fact that Setanta are still bidding on sport. Sure nothing has changed for Ireland anyway. The UK Setanta package is alot more inferior then the Irish one. They have only lost the monday night games. If they loose the UK market the Irish one is still making money .

The UK package is inferior but much cheaper. On sky:
U K: £12.99 per month or as low as £9.99
ROI: £19.61 per month (at present exchange rate)

I think they are still bidding for bravado, to encourage investors the company is still viable. It looks less and less likely.

The Irish market is not big enough to keep the company afloat.

I would prefer if Sky had competition but Murdoch saw off BSB and will probably see off Setanta.

I pay €20 a month just to watch UFC, Bravo used to air it then sky had the PPV fight night rights but setanta bought the Irish rights for all UFC. Im pretty sick of forking out money everywhere just to watch my fav show.

It would be cheaper for me to fly to the states to watch the fricken fights!
