What the quickest way to get a new passport? i need A new passport in less than 12 days which means I cant get it using passport express because that takes min 10 WORKING days from when they receive it. Someone was saying I could go to dublin post office and get one made up on the day, i doubt this is true though, I would imagine it would still take a couple of days. What are my options, will i have to go up to dublin a few days in advance of my flight? problem is i cant do this because im in the middle of exams, i can only go up monday at the earliest and the flight leaves tuesday evening.

Whats the deal with emergency passports?

Passport express says WITHIN 10 days, not min 10 days: http://www.anpost.ie/AnPost/MainContent/Personal+Customers/More+from+An+Post/Passport+Express/

Applying in person, you can go to the offices in Dublin or Cork with proof of travel if you require the passport in less than 10 days: http://www.dfa.ie/home/index.aspx?id=254#person

    As the above but

a passport within 24 hours. You must be able to prove travel within that period of time.

Its possible though. You could book a flight to spain(requiring advanced passport information) then bring this to the passport office and get a passport that day. If you have money to throw around of course.

I believe there is a fee for getting it the same day.

i would ring the passport office as the express is 10 working days and you wont get it in time also if you could i wouldnt risk it as when i got my renewed they put the wrong dob on it i was 30yr older aparently!! and then with my daughters 3 times they sent it back first time garda filled it our wrong, 2nd time the garda was on of those garda reserves and dont hav the athority fill the form (she also did it wrong so when the passport rang the station bout it there was no garda of that name stationed there it must hav been one of the reserve) then the 3rd time he signed in the wrong place! it took 6wks until she finaly got the passport 2 days b4 our holiday.
