Peugeot Indictors Intermittently Flashin Faster

Hi,
My wife drives a peugeot.
When you indicate right or left the indicators will intermittently start flashing faster on the side that is indicating and then return to the normal flashing speed.
All connectors to the indicators were checked and they appear to be ok.
All bulbs are working.

Has anyone any ideas on what the cause might be ?

Loose/faulty indicator relay perhaps.

That was happening in mine, then it started coming on whenever it felt like it. It cost me 140 to get it fixed but it's been fine since. I later learned that it's a fault with peugeots. You will just have to replace it I think.

It would vary depending on the model. Possible in an enclosure in the engine compartment or even in the dash. It shouldn't be hard to source a diagram on the web given the model and year.

Its your comm 2000 mate you should have that covered either under warranty or as a recall. Dont take no for an anwser. I used to work for peugeot warranty! :cool:

Sorry I should've said it's a '02 206 sw.

Is there a link to find out if comm 2000 is covered under a recall ?
I do not want to contact main dealer without knowing first.

I worked in warrnty for four years mate to be on the safe side just phone up your local dealer have your chassis number and reg ready. They can type in your details and if it comes under the recall then they will tell ya.

Let me know how it goes.

On VWs its the hazard light switch where the relay is located, it pops out and a new hazard switch goes in, about €40 for the part. Turn on your hazards or indicators and listen where the ticking is coming from, thats where the relay switch is.

Dont touch anything until you contact you dealer you may effect you recall.

+1 on the Comm2000.

Not sure about the warranty at this stage - it's a 7 year old car now.

As for the recall, a notification would have been sent from Peugeot to the registered owner if a recall campaign was launched. But if it was recalled then warranty will cover it.
