    Hi Guys,

To all hosts/organisers of seminars, have you experienced a reduced level of attendance or considered not running with a seminar due to the economic conditions.

Just wondering if the 'credit crunch' has impacted?

So far I havn't seen much changes in numbers attending seminars. I do think you have to offer good value, and students need to feel they getting something for their money. Everyone now has to choose more productively where they spend their money, so they will judge what will they get from the seminar. At the end of the day people cant lock themselves away from life, and thou may not go to a €150 seminar they might instead go to three €50 - €60 smaller seminars.

The only small difference I've seen and talking to other martial artists I know ,is there is less and less attendence over the past 3 - 5 years from Martial Artists outside of your own Clubs or Association. I think this maybe is more down to people now judge a Art on it three minute clip on youtube, face book, blog etc.. instead of actually experiencing it in the flesh.

I think Damo all clubs now have now to be more active, in marketing their art, and opening new avenues which will help increase your numbers for seminars. I got great help from some friends in this area, and I'm having my busiest year in classes, personal training and seminars.

    Best of Luck

I've been running seminars for more than 20 years and most of them don't break even.
I still do it because I like to train and offer training with the top guys around.
