    The LotR better be the uncut version.

    Not that I have a blueray player or hd tv to play them on

    But some day I will. Oh yes I will....

    They're the theatrical versions. EEs are coming with the release of "The Hobbit"

    LOTR?
    <rant>
    I suppose they will be released seperately?
    We were bombarded with blu-ray hype about it's storage capacity and
    the 3 extended cuts plus all extras could feasibly fit on two discs , but as always the consumer will get ripped off.

    With the Hobbit having a release date of 2012 (December like LOTR I presume) I don't think they will wait that long to release the EEs. I would assume sometime September 2010. Of course that's only IMO. I suppose it depends on what they intend to do with them. If it's simply (as in no more new suplimentary material, not implying converting to BD is easy for the pedants out there :) ) a remaster of the DVD EEs then hopefully 2010 but if PJ is going to work on them himself then his slate if full for a while with Monkeybone, Hobbit and Tintin I suppose

    I've seen a 720 version of them (TE of Fellowship and King and EE of Towers and they look fantastic. I've heard people saying the effects suffer a bit but I don't think so. Certainly not in Towers and King. I was worried about Gollum but he still looks totally convincing. Haven't seen his equal yet (*cough*Iamlegend*cough*)

    Fingers crossed for 2010 anyways folks
