Can anyone recommend nice hotel in dubai? We re getting our engagement ring from Cara Jewellers in diamond and gold park there but not sure what hotel to book. The Four Points by Sheraton downtown Dubai has caught my eye. Anyone stayed there or recommend another hotel? Thinking of going end of june. All suggestions appreciated :)

Was out there last year with the better half and got an engagement ring in Cara Jewellers. We stayed in the Grand Hyatt which is in the city center and about 1/2 hour taxi drive out. Taxi`s are very cheap but traffic can be a bit mad in evening. The new rail service should be near complete now though.

If you want some where nice and close to Cara, try the Jumeirah Beach Hotel . Overlooks the Burg Al Arab. it is bit more expensive than some of the city center hotels but very close to everything and its beside the beach. Burg Al Arab is defo worth a visit also for afternoon tea. Just for the experience alone.

    Good luck with it.

We stayed a good bit further out, in the Jebel ali hotel. It was great, but a bit far from everything. the do have a nice deserted beach, marina and golf course however. We also got a very cheap upgrade on the day we arrived

PS i would second goin to the burj al arab for afternoon tea. expensive but well worth it!
