It's half a cm in diameter and is red...
I suppose what i'm asking is there anyone here that's had a similar experience and what did they do about it...Am I just freaking out over nothing?? I don't really want got go to my GP, because maybe I'm just over-reacting...

if you found a lump - get it checked.

visit doc ...and go get scans done ...better to be safe than sorry !!

    Any similar family history ?

you absolutely have to go to your gp asap.

the majority of breast lumps are entirely benign, but you cannot take that chance, anymore than you can take the chance of getting medical advice from randomers on teh internet.

    go get it checked out.

good luck, hope things work out ok

I just feel that it is so small, that i'm being silly over nothing. Like i'm only 20, it's not something i'd expect. Yes there is a history of cancer, but not of breast cancer to my knowledge...

it may well be nothing serious, but it's your health and you should not take thst risk. your gp certainly wont think you're over-reacting.

Candy get it checked. No doctor will look down on u 4 being cautious you're being smart. Breast cancer has come 2 my family and we all wish it was picked up sooner.

But for what it's worth the nurses in the radiologist's dept said that 95% of cases they see are negative. Hopefully you'll be in that range too!

    Best of luck

I honestly don't think it's anything, I just feel a little awkward because it's a male doctor and there's no female available....
Could you go once off to another place on a once off basis under GMS??

About a year ago I found a lump on my breast. I went straight to the doctor, had some tests done and thankfully all was fine.

None of us here can tell you what kind of lump you have but one thing for certain is you need to go to a doctor and get it checked. Its better to be safe than sorry and no doctor will think you are silly.

    Good luck.

If you are not comfortable with a male doctor, get yourself a female one today.
Do not leave this go. It maybe nothing. But this is your life and when it comes to stuff like this, it is better to be safe than sorry.
    Doctors understand that.
    Get youself sorted today!

    Hi Candy,

First of all, stop worrying and don't panic. It may be nothing at all. It is common to get lumps around the time of the month. They do go away. But it is always best to get it checked out to make sure you are all right.

I do not know how old you are but there is a breast screening clinic that is free to woman aged 50 and over.

If you are not that age and would prefer not to go to your family doctor as you say he is male, you could go to the Well Woman Clinic.

Just go and get it seen to as soon as possible so you can put your mind at ease. Make sure you rest and eat well too and do not stress yourself out.

    Take care of yourself,
    Love,
    Merlie :)

Go to a doctor. It's really the only way that you'll be able to calm down over this.

Go to a doctor, any doctor... asap. While you may feel a little awkward going to a doctor, it is nothing they haven't seen before and dealt with professionally. Even go to your male doctor and tell him you'd feel uncomfortable with him examining you and ask if he could refer you or organise a female doc. I'm that will be no problem. The important thing is to have it checked out properly.

    EDIT: Good luck on Monday.
