You're looking at a connecting flight anyway. Delta via JFK or Atlanta is one that springs to mind.

    Hi Nellie,

I have flown to Fort Lauderdale from Dublin with Delta a couple of times. Usually through JFK but this year at Easter I went via Atlanta. Atlanta is a much more 'friendly' airport and makes for a much more enjoyable experience, in my opinion.

I have always bought our flights online, try gohop and ebookers.

great will try them, do you think I should book as early as possible or leave it go until nearer the time?

    thanks

I wouldn't book until December. January/February is usually the lowest season and return flights for under €300 should be available around Christmas.

Miami may be a good option for more flights and lower fares.

Tip: Don't fly on the day your cruise is departing. If your flight is delayed, you could miss your ship's departure and your holiday would be ruined.

thanks Steve, if I was to fly into Miami is fort lauderdale far from there or what would be the best mode of transport to get. Last time we cruised directly from Miami so it was perfect!

You can get a flight with US airways . Ive seen it via philadelphia. Also Ft lauderdale has more budget carriers flying to it try southwestern or aer lingus with jetblue?

Miami is about 30 minutes away... a taxi could be expensive ($50-$100). Renting a car might be the cheapest way! So if flying to Miami only saves you €50 on the fare, then flying into Ft Lauderdale would be cheaper in the long run (and more convenient).

Just to give you an indication I did Dublin->Atlanta->Fort Lauderdale and back the same route in May 07 and paid around 500 euro. Great service on all legs by Delta, 2 hour stop over between the Atlanta and Fort Lauderdale routes and the same back.

Fort Lauderdale airport is quite handy for the port too, $20 dollars, 15 minute drive or so.
