well im turning 17 in july and i really really want to start boxing but i know its nearly too late to start. i live in limerick and will travel for training if necessary, i want to train hard and i have every intention in sparring and fighting if i can get a club to take me. im a big guy and i play rugby so im used to training but im not at my best fitness at the moment. i have a heavy bag and use it often. does anyone know of a club that will take me on or is there any?

hey fella ...at 17 ur at a great age to take up the sport ...not too old at all . any club will be happy to on fellas as long as you take the piss...

its a sport that would complement rugby - the rigourous workout ur neck and shoulder muscles get from boxing will help alot in rugby.

not sure of what clubs are in limerick but hopefully some other guys on the forum can help you there

Best of luck with it and stick at it
