Where are the hidden areas of Meath that appeal to you.

    My favourites include:

    1. Sliabh na Caillí, and Loughcrew below it.

    2. Fore Abbey, which is possibly in County Westmeath at the moment.

    3. Ramparts of the Boyne

    4. Franciscan Monastery in Slane

    5. Bective Abbey

    6. Monktown

    7. Galtrim/Dangan/Summerhill

    8. Wayside crosses (late medieval commemorative stones) from Dunsany to
    Balrath to Duleek

    The better known ones include:

    1. Skreen & Tara

    2. Drogheda (late medieval)

    3. Newgrange, Knowth, and Dowth.

The National Inventory of Architectural Heritage has a lot of gems listed online. Here's the link to those in my beloved Ratoath, but you can widen the search to any part of the country.
