why is it so difficult to find any descent irish web sites

been looking for good trace sites and different information bout even buying clothes on the internet

they have it much better abroad the information is more open and lots more to find out especially in tracing like you can find births deaths and marriages on the uk internets whereas here you have to go into the gro

as for finding good stores online its very difficult

do ye have the same problems looking for sites in ireland

it seems the irish sites are alot backwards before they come forwards - alot of catching up to do with out internet counter parts

If there's no money to be made out of it, Irish people wont bother their whole trying.

It probably mirrors Irish attitude to the web in general to a certain extent, especially when it comes to internet shopping. I know a lot of people who would never in a million years buy anything online. And not necessarily older people either.
So it stands to reason there would be a lot of those people also running companies too. If they do have a website, it's likely to be nothing more than one of those business card websites. You know the ones that contain no prices and just have the contact details for the bricks and mortar business.

Nothing pisses me off more than seeing "phone us for a quote" on a website without at least some rough indication of what that quote might be. It's inexcusable these days.

There's no "Irish Internet" and no "UK Internet" (well not yet anyway:P) so once a store ships to Ireland you can order off them:confused:

You can also find the obituaries online.
