Screen going blank on 480p and Samsung HDTV

When I connect my Wii to the Samsung 32" LCD TV (one of the latest models, bought 4 months ago) using the component cable the picture is great, but every once in a while, maybe 15 minutes or so, sometimes more often, the screen goes blank for a split second. It's really really annoying.

Changing the resolution to 480i or 576i doesn't make any difference, as long as it's on component cable it acts like this.

If I move it to the scart cable that came with the Wii it's working fine but then of course the picture quality suffers :(

I've had a media center connected to the TV using the component inputs so I know the TV works fine.

Anyone know what could be causing this and how to fix it?

Same happens with my 19 inch Samsung. Only happens though when I have the R and L audio cables conneted to the surround speakers. No way around it I think you just have to make do.:(

Have had no probs with a near identical set up, what games are you playing? are they Virtual Console or Wiiware? sometimes they can be a bit funny.

Well (and I might be stating the obvious here) if you know the component connection on your set to be working ok by connecting a different device (i.e. the media center) then this could perhaps suggest an issue with the Wii component cable or, at worst, the component out on the Wii itself perhaps? I suppose, as valleyoftheunos mentioned, it is worth considering if this happens with optical media games or is it just with virtual console games as some of them are a bit dodgey over component I believe. I have no issues at all using component with a Samsung Le40a786 myself btw

Thanks lads. I bought a different component cable and it's now working fine.

Can't see much difference between them, except that the new one is a bit shorter.. didn't realize component video can be so sensitive :(
