I have edited one of my own pictures using a trial version of Photmatix... turned out ok.. but now i have ugly "photmatix" watermarks all over it.. is there anyway I could remove these or even replace them.. I have Gimp but don't know of anyway to remove them with Gimp.. any help would be greatly appreciated!!

You're going to have to buy the software to get the watermarks removed, it'll be covered in the trial versions terms and agreements when you install the app. :)

    Adrienne

great advice for all new photographers

    "Save your origional"
that is when you open a photo in an editing program make a duplicate, work on the duplicate, save the duplicate under a different name and then when you close the program and you are asked if you want these changes in the origional say "NO".....

    It works

Kinda confused at what you mean.... with Potomatix... as soon as I created this Picture.. watermarks were added... no matter what.. they are there...

Not sure if there is any free HDR software but seeing as you don't want to pay for photomatix you could perhaps consider doing Exposure Fusion (LDR) images instead for which there is free software (e.g. Enfuse / EnfuseGUI)

Thank you soooo Much!!! I will deffinetly be checking those out!! :)

That is called Software Piracy & is covered in the Charter.

Moving this over to Digital Darkroom.

I wasn't talking about stealing the program with out paying!!! I was just trying to find out if I could remove the watermarks the trial version put on the picture...

The Watermarks are part of the conditions of the Trial. So removing them is technically a breach of that agreement.

Looking at the image posted, it does not strike me as a scene that would have had enough dynamic range to justify HDR. It looks like there would be more than enough range in a normal RAW file.

qtpfsgui is another hdr production software program if hdr is what you are after. This software is open source / free to download and use. There was a thread over here which referenced it.
