Watching it for the first time in years on Paramount, and it's still quality!!

I don't know about anyone else but I'd love to see a proper sequel, proper as in, Jim Carey in the role.

Carey didnt want to do a sequel apparently.
    Sequel

Not long after the release of The Mask, it was announced in Nintendo Power that Carrey would be returning in a sequel called The Mask II. The magazine held a contest, with the winner being an extra in the film, but, due to Jim Carrey declining to reprise his role, the project never came to fruition. A Carrey-less sequel, Son of the Mask, was released in theaters in 2005 to very poor box office performance and critical disapproval.

It is a decent film though.

The son-of was dire, it was a genuine fun movie built for Carey. Physical comedy is his thing but i'd like him to do more serious stuff...type cast much?

Carey refuses to do sequels ever since Ace Ventura 2. Something to do with playing teh same character twice negatively affecting his manic depression.

Son of the Mask, was the first and still the only film that I walked out on half way through it. Worst film ive ever seen.

You know, i always suspected his "manic" characters were a smokescreen for him being inherently unhappy, but he's not unique in this regard whether it be actors or "normal" folk.

Forget Cerey! I wouldn't have minded seeing more of Cameron Diaz! :D

Carey can without doubt deliver a fine comic performance and Yes Man proves beyond all doubt that he still has it. The Mask and Dumb and Dumber are timeless classics for sure.

I can't believe he hasn't got an Oscar nomination yet - though I also can't believe The Truman Show and Eternal Sunshine weren't nominated for Best Picture (they got writing and directing nods, I believe). He's quite impressive when being serious. I read on Wikipedia that Jack Nicholson described him as a young Jack Nicholson. High praise indeed.

Indeed he is, Carrey was manic depressive and has had numerous spells in rehab to help keep it at bay. Such a shame as i'd have loved to see a 2nd Mask too:( But Ace Ventura 2 is my favourite film of all time so happy days eh:D

im glad there wasnt a sequal to the mask (SOTM doesnt count) they would have destroyed it!

    (SOTM doesnt count)

True that. Never do a sequel to a Jim Carey movie with no Jim Carey.

NSFW due to Jim Carey's buttocks.

awww.... Jim Casey, i grew up lovin "Ace Ventura" 1and 2 so much so i knew then word for word. You can youtube his name and cannibal corpse and an extended scene comes up of him singing wit the famous band. He was brilliant in then. His role in "Batman" killed it for me though, but i think it was the movie as a whole ! Ive heard "Yes Man" is a good show, so gonna rent that soon.

You are right...Jim Casey doesn't get any credit for those films.....Most likely because Jim Casey isn't in them.

I recently bought the film recently and was a little disappointed that there was no sequel but hey what can you do. I much prefer Carrey now in his more serious roles.

I'm possibly one of the only people who really enjoyed The Number 13 - all I hear from anyone else is that it sucks.
Carey is brilliant in Dumb and Dumber, The Mask, Ace Ventura, The Truman Show, The Cable Guy, Liar Liar, Me Myself & Irene, and (a very underrated) Fun With Dick & Jane.
Thought Bruce Almighty was alright and Yes Man was just awful.
Haven't seen Eternal Sunshine yet but it's high up on my must see list.
