I like the Sheraton, simply because it's an Epiphone original model. The Casino, the Riviera and the Sheraton are some of the coolest older designs out there, if you ask me. I'd love me an Elitist Sheraton or Casino.

Peerless are making some nice guitars for Epiphone at the moment as well by all reports.

Caveats about the Sheraton from a Sheraton owner -

    1. Stock pickups are crap, they need to be replaced with decent pups.
    2. Stock nut is crappy plastic, needs to be replaced for a bone nut.
    3. Stock tuners are crap, guitar goes out of tune quite easily.

Don't get me wrong, its a good guitar for the price and its beautiful to look at.

Get those three things replaced and you turn a good guitar into a superb 335 replacement.

Ouch that is alot to do

    What pickups would you recommend???

Also cost wise to get all that done would seem a bit prohibitive. Also I heard pickup wise Epiphone really got their house in order the last couple of years??? Not true????

The nut and pups replacement is essential, tuners is an optional change.

I went for P90 Phat Cats and a bone nut.

    The guitar sounds amazing now....

Won't sound like a 335 or a Sheraton II with Phat Cats.

Yep, pricey enough but worth it in the long run, I reckon. No pickup changes needed or any faffing about, just a nicely put together guitar, well built, stays in tune, nice fret job and the pickups are really bang on.

Got it from these fellas http://stores.ebay.co.uk/Rich-Tone-Music-Ltd

I actually bought my Tokai Les Paul Custom from them.

    Excellent to deal with

I can vouch for the Tokai ES100 (and above) but have heard mixed reviews about the ES60. Could just be snobbery though. The MIJ's are superb.

speaking of ES100...... *playing it now* :D
