    Just changed the BB on my bike. It is a casette type. Before I dispose of the old one I was wondering if its possible to source new bearings for it. I dismantled it to discover the only thing worn is the drive side bearing, everything else is perfect. It is a sealed type bearing labeled 173110 which I figured out gives the dimensions as follows.
    Internal diameter = 17
    External diameter = 31
    Width = 10

    Cant find anything suitable on ebay or google although there seems to be lots of sealed bearings for wheels on ebay.
    The complete replacement unit only cost 20 euro but Id like to know if anybody knows where I can get the bearings.
    Truvativ only sell complete units.

    I doubt it; that doesn't seem to be a particularly common bearing size. Even if you could probably wouldn't cost much less than the €20 for a new BB. I am looking for new bearings for a front hub myself and they seem a lot more commonly available through Google, eBay, bearing websites etc. (I need 17/26x5mm (6803) bearings.) Cartridge bottom brackets are generally designed to be replaced as a unit I think.

    @ Blorg.
    Well it looks like you are in luck. There seems to be plenty of those on ebay even ceramic ones in the USA for 11 Euro.

    And thanks for that. There seems to be a massive range of pricing on the bearings, anything from 2 quid up to over 100... So a bit confused by it all. I get the material differences but wonder if otherwise there is a big difference between bearings of the same materials.
