Hi Mods, feel free to move this I am not to sure where the best place is. I imagine the LL but what the heck

    anyway!

    Women and high heel shoes.

Granted they are sexy but do you really want to know what p@sses me off. Its women wearing high heals with the heal exposed. I have to say its the most selfish thing we can do and its ruined my floor

Now granted if I had a few bob I prob would not care but times are hard and my so called friends seem to think that being reckless and ruining my floor is acceptable. One girls shoe actually got caught on the bathroom lino. She laughed and said " Oh I gotta get these healed" I did not see it as funny! My new hall floor granted will get wear and tear looks like a creater face in less than 6 months.

Am I the only nut job that thinks of this?

How do other women approch the subject! if they do!

    Moved from PI

Rejoice in the awareness of feeling stupid, for that’s how you end up learning new things. If you’re not aware you’re stupid, you probably are.

i would say mmmm if it really bother's you have no shoes worn in the house rule!!

unless of course its sexy time with your lady then you could over look that if at allpossible...

I'm not allowed wear any heels in our house as we have wooden floors. I either tip toe when I'm leaving or take em off at the front door when I'm coming in. You could just ask them to walk gently as you've just polished the floor or something.

LOL.....my father hates stilettos for that very reason......twas the topic of many a rant in our old house as I remember!!

I don't understand women who don't look after their shoes. Seriously.

They go out and spend a couple of hundred squids on beautiful leather soled shoes, don't bother getting them rubber soled, wear the heel down on the first night out and continue to wear it whilst the metal is exposed.

Hey Presto, 2 or 3 wears later and a bit of rain to boot, and the shoes are fcuked and they're moaning and whinging about how they are never spending that amount of money on shoes again and looking at me like I had ten heads cos I asked why they didn't go to the cobbler before they wore them to have them soled and why didn't they spray them with protector spray first:confused:

'Are Cobblers not, like, an old fashioned 50s type thing???'

    Ehhhh...No:rolleyes:

Sorry, this is a little bugbear of mine......:o

    Cobblers and protector spray ftw:D

Another thread to make me feel vindicated for only wearing flat shoes. :)

Get them to wear cloth booties made of old sackcloth tied at the ankle over the high heels.

    That'll teach 'em!

    Granted they are sexy

They so aren't though. Whats sexy about somebody who steps like a crippled chicken? Womens walk slow enough as it is without them fcuking themselves up more by wearing stupid shoes. And they always need so many of pairs of them like seriously WTF?

I don't walk like a crippled chicken in them, and I'm damn tall so I've got a long stride and I don't walk slow.

And don't go there about the number, it'd only end in tears..

    I'm going there...and I have a hanky.

Why have so many? And what's more, someone I knew had the same high heeled shoes (expensive too!), only a different colour.

I've got an old pair of shiny shoes for weddings/funerals, a pair of sneakers, a pair of doc martin boots and ordinary leather shoes...and I think that's flamboyant.

    So what gives?

    Oh no, you did -ent..

    Okay, basic explanation.

Girls and boys are different in many wonderful ways. Really. Girls are nice and shiny, boys are sort of dirty and hairy (this is a good thing). Girls wear many types of pretty spangly or otherwise girly attire. Boys wear trousers.

For dark trousers, boys need shoes with laces and shiny toes. For jeans, boys need sneakers. For anything else, boys need a pass from the Metro academy.

Girls need shoes to go with pants, jeans, combats, dresses of many colours, formal dresses, casual dresses, skirts, shirts of myriad colours and styles.

Every time a girl buys shoes, an angel gets its wings.

Its a service, it cheers us up, its cheaper than a new car stereo and a playstation 3 (or whatever it is boys buy), and they make us look taller, make our butts stick out like barbie, and give us the illusion of long legs.

All of which boys tend to like.

    Doing you a favour really.:)

Hmmmm...so you need shoes to go with a myriad of outfits?

And you need such a variety of clothes to go with...a myriad of shoes?:pac:Where does it begin and end?

Like the chicken and the egg, the tree falling in the forest when noone's around, its just one of life's great mysteries.

    Any further help, just ask.;)

Oh, there are many other questions...but they will just drag this thread more off topic.

As regards the original post, you could get the women to wear a range of pastry cutters on the end of each high heel, and thus you will get some novel design cut-outs on your linoleum.

Thread about the upkeep of shoes; bounced to FAP as a more appropriate spot than TLL...

Ah, curse of Irish people. Rather sit and endure something they're unhappy about and complain about it later than actually do anything to solve the problem! Tell the girls to leave their shoes at the door! And promise no one will steal them... *flash back to Carrie's silver Manolo B's.....*

And all women should have a cobbler. Saved many a pair of shoes and I don't know how much money.

Short women want to look taller because they look stumpy in dresses and tall women usually have massive man feet, which look shorter in high heels.

Some women like to come across as handicapped so men will want to look after them. They also pretend to be stupider than they are, afraid of spiders, films etc.

I would make them either fix my floor themselves, or pay for a man to do it.

I always take off my heels walking into a house with wooden or laminate floors. Its common courtesy if you are a visitor. Granted I've never worn heels to a house party/dinner party so I'm not sure what I would do in this case.

Its definitely not asking too much to ask girls to take them off.

Nobody including myself are allowed wear any type of shoes in our livingroom as its an oak wooden floor and we paid a fortune for it!

People should respect your home enough to take their shoes off and you shouldn't be afraid to ask people to remove their shoes if need be. We have tiles in our hall, kitchen & sunroom so all are free to roam through there with their shoes on!

Spent yesterday with my swollen foot elevated to ease the pain. I have a blue bruise encompassing half my right foot. Someone had a GREAT old time on my foot Saturday night

about the shoes coming off at 2.30am, its more about pain from the heels than shoes not fitting. i usually have a pair of flats in my bag for such emergencies or a long walk home.

i know its a bit off topic but i have to ask - why pay a fortune for a floor that noone can walk on? whatever about just no heels on the floor, no shoes at all..

I really love it and wouldn't want anyone ruining it so shoes are banned from that room even runners or flats incase they have a stone caught underneath them without noticing. They can walk everywhere else with their shoes on no problem!

You think I am bad...A neighbour of mine won't even park their car in their driveway which is black tarmac incase they dirty it!

OP why don't you get loads of those cheap slippers (Irish women's sizes are pretty average as far as I can remember 6,7,8?) and leave them near the door and the next time someone comes over just offer them this. If they're smart they'll get the message!

my dad goes mad over wearing high heels in our house!!!mostly because it involved.....a party.....loads of people....most if not all girls wearing high heels...... and the timber floors all over the house ruined!one girl (idiot who didnt know anyone and jst gate crashed) her heels were so bad they were literally just nails and she made a hole in one of the floors...she wasnt long getting kicked out after that:p

i cudnt wear flat shoes though....i just kick off the heels as soon as in get in the door:) so i dont think its asking too much to get people to take off high heels in your house, after all you will be the one paying to get the floors done!!

My mother got 'quick step' laminate flooring that looks exactly like hardwood floors. But its v v v durable. The dog brings in stones and all sorts from back garden, plus its paws - not a mark on the floor. Good stuff peoples
Regarding high heels and shoes on floors - I always ask when stepping into a persons house for the first time should I take off my shoes. Its just manners.
Id cry if I spend yoyo's on floor and some inconsiderate wan with her cheap shoes totters over it.

Wish I'd a thunk of having a High Heel Party on my wood floors. I spend ages 'distressing' them with a length of chain.

    I'm older than Minecraft goats.
