I`m thinking of ordering a kit and some extra`s from GAK,from what I`ve read they seem to have a postitive vibe, there prices are better than Thomann accept for a dbl bass pedal, X-Music are gettin in some new stock next week or so, I will check them out, but I doubt that they could do better......

GAK are great to deal with. They really try to help you out and accomodate you.

Their choice of courriers are a joke though. Recently ( last few weeks) I made a purchase from them. Package was collected the next day and to be delivered on monday.

I stayed home for 2 hours monday morning but no package. a phonecall to city link later and i was told it would be there tuesday by 11am.

11am tuesday, no package. rang them again and was told 11 am wednesday.

11 am wednesday , same deal.

Package actually arrived thursday at 5 pm. I complained to city link, who didnt care one bit. I mailed gak to inform them their choice of courrier will sway me away from them in future.

So gak are good, but dont expect prompt or accurate delivery times to Ireland.

Strange that. They usually go with DHL which provide excellent service. The driver actually rings you to arrange a delivery time.

As for GAK.....probably the best UK site at the moment. They only charge £26 on an order. They also price match other UK sites if the item is cheaper on another site. Quick delivery too.

Generally they are great all round website etc.

i usually get some sort of private courier service or something

but the dude always rings in the morning before he delivers it well he does for me since my adress is kinda confusing, but either way quick shipping and usually aok

I ordered a strat from gak back in January. They gave me a delivery date of 23rd March. Fair enough they didn't have it in stock, I decided to go with them anyway since I got in before the price hikes. 23rd of March comes around and they tell me my credit card didn't process, okay that's not their fault either, probably I made a mistake. So I called them up and paid for it and they said they'd send it straight away and I would have it within two days. I waited a week and it didn't arrive, called them up and they said they didn't know what went wrong but they'd send another one that very day, it would be with me in two days. So I waited another week, no guitar, called them up and they didn't know what was going on. They tried to blame it on the delivery company but I managed to get the sales guy to confess they hadn't sent it out either time. The sales guy then told me he went down to the warehouse and personally put one in a van. So I waited another week and nothing. This time the guitar was lying in some Citylink warehouse, and as far as I know they had no intention in delivering it at all except the sales guy finally got his finger out and banged some heads together. So finally almost 4 weeks after the guitar was supposed to arrive I got it.

Really shoddy operation. And they could at least have thrown in a set of strings to say sorry.

Anyway, the main thing is I now have my a sweet-ass strat...

I ordered an acoustic off them about 2 months ago only to find after placing the order that they wouldn't have it in stock for another 5 weeks.

The trouble is that they put a 'hold' on the funds despite the fact that it wasn't in stock.I had to wait for ten working days for that hold to lift off my card before i could order it elsewhere.

Why can't they state the availability of the stock on the website? Every other instruments website i can think of does it...

Sounslive & Imuso are both great dealers with similar prices.

Well a lot of mixed comments, but as long as I ring them and make sure the item is there find out who they get to deliver it and keep track of it all should be good......I hope.
With an order this big they cant f£$k it up!

Including shipping it was 814 euros. Fortunately sterling took a dip in March.

Stringsdirect.co.uk are very good to deal with and always give better pricing than competitors.

I ordered a guitar from them before Christmas. I saw it cheaper elsewhere so rang them and they price matched. They sent it out and I had it within a few days.

One problem though, they sent the wrong colour - black instead of the white I had ordered. Rang them straight away and they apologized and offered to send out the correct colour and collect the one I had had, or if I wanted to keep the one I had they would give me some freebies as way of an apology.

The black was fecking gorgeous so I kept it. They posted me out 10 sets of strings and a 20 foot guitar cable.:D

Anyway cheap excuse to re-post a couple of pics :D

I got a big 4x12 cab and a few pedals from them before and I got them really quickly and without any hassle. I got a pretty good price on it all too. I'd deal withh them again no problems.

I ordered a Pod XT Live off GAK a few years ago and it arrived promptly without any issues. I don't know anyone that has had any issues with them unlike certain other retailers.
