Instructors from Brigade Training Centres will be overseeing training in order to ensure that a high quality of training is delivered. Might not happen now, I've heard that responsibility for recruit traininig may revert to units rather than centralised training which has been the norm for the last few years.

i dont know what you mean by a recruit btc, but if you mean your easter camp or summer camp its where you get out of bed at 7am and work/train til 11pm and find out what being in the army is like (or rather more like than if you were home nice and warm in civvie street)

edit: oh interesting. that would take some amount of time/resources.

I might not be expressing myself coherently here, what i mean to say is the pre summer camp "tests" for recruits.Im not sure what the correct term is.We have this coming up shortly. What does it involve?.i.e. stripping the steyr, safety, marching etc?

I'm not entirely sure - maybe your unit is running tests to ensure you weapon handling and drill is at a good standard before they're sent off on recruit camp. Would make sense, a lot of time is wasted on recruit camps by going over the very basics which should have been learned in Module 1.

Its usually a lot of footdrill and then your TOET i think you have to fire on the live range before you can shoot on excercise.

I'm gonna agree with Concussion here, sounds to me like something your unit have come up with. It's actually a pretty good idea that would potentially save a lot of time teaching the basics on Recruit Camp if it was properly implemented.

If you want a proper answer as to whats involved then you're going to have to ask your NCOs, it's their job to prepare you for this kind of thing.

I get the feeling that you have the name slightly wrong, BTC is already in use to mean Brigade Training Centre, I just think its unlikely that the term would be used for something else as well.
