    First I assumed it was a carrier but that looks a bit odd both a) in the nile and b) on a civilian tracker

    Look at the map here: http://www.newscientist.com/gallery/small-world - the only shipping that sails past the west coast of Ireland is that (a) going to ireland (b) going from Norway / Russia to Spain or further south.
