    You could ring NCTS.

You could ring the original selling dealer or the manufacturer/distributor.

NCT Regulations state that you must bring the registration certificate with you for the test. I have never been asked to produce it but it is in the regs.

The date is on the certificate.

FWIW - I've had the wife's VW Bora NCT'd three times (plus the odd retest) and I've never been asked to produce either the VRC or VLC.

    Not true.

NCT have access to a database and do not need to see the VLC.

The commercial vehicle DOE however states you must have produce your logbook for every test regardless.

Don't forget to bring your vehicle registration book, registration certificate or licensing certificate and your test fee.

I have seen this discussion here before and at least one person was actually asked for it once.

Well fcuk me.. I was wrong.

I know they have access to the database though.

The DOE was to get it but there is some row over funding now

Apologies for bumping this thread. I am having the same problem as the OP...I cannot find my vehicle's registration date. Is there anywhere online that I can find it?

    Thanks

only place online that the general public can do it is www.cartell.ie but it costs you 20e iirc

can you not simply look at your VLC?

Go into the tax office and bring some ID with you.

They should, if you ask nicely print you out your details.

They do it in sligo for people who have a DOE test and cannot find their log book
