well think back to the old release of home video formats. VHS v's Betamax, both did exactly the same thing yet VHS won the fight and became standard.

The same goes for HD v's Blu Ray, Blue Ray has won that battle thanks to the PS3. So based on that info i'd go for the PS3.

Also the XBOX's fan is noisey as fook and will do your head in, it sounds like a jet engine and it never dies down. Also the XBOX is prone to the Red Ring Of Death which is a known hardware issue that still happens even after repair!

I own a PS3 and i had the same question as you a few months ago. Its by far the best purchase I have ever made. It does everythng the XBOX does except a little bit better. I have it hooked up to my PC and use it as a home theatre system as well as a gaming. The PS3 also allows you to upgrade the hard drive quite easily too compared the expensive XBOX solution which has its limits too.

Pound for Pound the PS3 also has better hardware.

Also with the PS3 you dont have to pay for online subscriptions to play multiplayer games online. Where as with MS you have to pay for a Live account to play online games.

Simple Ps3 wins hands down on all fronts.
