lads sometimes this contact appears on my gmail list, and the program seems to freeze. other times its not there at all, is it a hacker or what.?

No, it's not a hacker. It's someone who you sent or received an email to / from at some point. When he's online he's going to appear like that. You can block him in the chat bit somehow.
