    Well,

Didn't know to post here or under travel but...

Myself and a few friends are heading out to the US over the summer to play a bit of football, was really just looking to know what the standard is like. i'd heard from a few different people good reports so wasn't sure what conclusion to come to. We are either going to Chicago or else Boston.

Alot of the managers claimed that it is in parts as good as senior football over here and some said that they would compare it to county u21 level. All i really wanted was just info from people who have been over / heading over in what the standard is like.

    cheers

I played in Boston in 2007. Standard was pretty decent, lads on my team were either senior county panelists, U21s, minors or had come from good club senior teams. I marked two players with All Ireland senior medals. The conditions can be difficult, and the game is a bit rougher so it will take some time to get used to it.

There is a Junior, and Junior B championship there which isn't as hectic if you want to bum around or travel a bit.

Well organised championship, I knew as soon as I landed I had a game every 2 weeks, the full list is available at the start of the season.

Chicago has the most money, and often the best players as a result. The problem with Chicago is that there are only 3 clubs.
