Was available in the 24 hour Dunnes on the childers road Limerick last night. dont know if the offer is extended to other branches but worth a look, sooner rather than later as it was €80 yesterevening and may be snapped up soon.

    It's a Verbatim 320GB drive.

    Sold out in Carlow, unfortunately.

I checked Amazon, and the only drive that matches the description is this one..

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/Verbatim-320GB-Portable-External-Drive/dp/B001GNCA1M/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1241177504&sr=8-1

If anyone sees them in stock somewhere, let us know.

I went down at lunch time to the one on the childers road and couldn't find any. Staff didn't seem to know of it. Was it by the cig counter, or off on a stand somewhere?

I had a look in Cork and I couldn't find it.

Just picked one up in Dunnes Brairhill Galway. Was marked 79.95 - no mention of the special offer, so I scanned it at the price checker and it came up 39.95 :D Happy days!
There were still 3 or 4 left an hour ago, and as they are not marked half price they're probably still there.
    Nice design, glossy finish.

USB powered, no need for power supply

    Thanks OP - great offer

    Specs here

Rightly so... missed to put the info.

Got from Dunnes in Tallaght square. I saw atleast 7 left this evening. As the other poster said the price displayed was €79.95 but when I scanned on the price checker it came as €39.98. Happy days :)

If you are going there, go left as soon as you enter the store, I think after 4 rows there a office section towards the end and there you will find a small rack and its right there. Remember to go to the end of rack, its not exactly there where all the blank cd's etc are there. I almost missed it thinking none there but as I moved forward I found them. Hope this helps.

You little gem. Heading into Dunnes Cavan in the morning (well, she will be on instruction now.)

Will let everyone know what I (she) finds.

Great stuff. I have to go to Newlands Cross in the morning anyway, so I'll drop in and (hopefully) pick one up.

    Cheers.:D

Can someone please right-click the drive letter when the Hard Drive is plugged in, then click Properties, then the Hardware tab, report who manufactures the drive, it should be fairly obvious.. WD, Maxtor etc.

Picked one up in Tallaght this morning, marked as €79.99 on the shelf, but scans as €39.99. There were about four left, but beside the stand was a Verbatim cardboard box, so they may be putting some more out.

Seems a nice little unit-looks good and seems reasonably quick.

A bit mad that you can buy a rebranded Western Digital for half the price of a Western Digital Passport drive!

Managed to pick up one in the square at about 12ish.
There was about 4-5 left in the verbatim stand.

When I asked about the price, they said it was 80 quid but got them to double check and the discount comes off at the till.

Thanks for the bargain :-) Always wanted one....now to back up my machine.

    Thanks,
    spanner

If you go to the express checkout, they have loads of electronics stuff there, that's where we asked anyway... (I think that's where they used to have the televisions stocked).

It took them maybe 10-15 minutes to get back to us with the actual hard drive, but they got it and seemed to have more in stock (we didn't ask).

They had the 500 GB version as well for €99. This one was displayed on the shelf :).

    Hope this helps,

    Magic.

    Dunnes Lucan have none

Dunnes Clondalkin(Mill Centre) had 4 left at 15:00. Took a while to find them. They are not in main part of shop but in the grocery section in the baby products aisle. They are in a yellow cardboard stand and they are priced at €79.99(so not attracting much attention) but are in fact scanning at €39.98.

    Thanks OP
