    hi all,

Just trying to find out options for soffit and facia. Does this have to be timber or can it be done by bricks?

We have wooden windows with blue black slates so want a nice medium to gel the two colours. Thinking of black.

    Suggestions very welcome.

I have exactly what you have and I got black facia and soffit just yesterday. I think it looks good. Don't like the look of brown facia and sofffit. But that's just me.

@ OP, yes, you can build your eaves detail in brick/ block, but it needs careful detailing to avoid cold-bridging, dampness penetration and to ensure adequate ventilation to attic/roof voids over.
It is a quite common feature of housing build by local authorities so as to minimize future repair and redecoration costs, not necessarily done for aesthetic colour blending! :-)

    Hi All,

    Thanks for the advice....

Jollyman... photo is great. Think we will do the same. We have seen one with brick looked nice but sounds too dodgy with the cold bridging.

We love the photo... helped make up our mind. Also we are going with the natural slate and the ridge caps like yourself.

Can you pm me with where you got them and price. Thanks
