I can't believe this thread hasn't been locked and he hasn't been warned. He's clearly poking the bee hive with a stick. Just look at his post and you'll see the airsofters have banned him at one stage.

    some are adult animation tho

    giggidy?

Anyone else think that "Anime is cartoons" doesn't sound right grammatically? Should it not be "Anime are cartoons" cause isn't Anime the plural and the singular  I dunno, there's nothing else to discuss in this thread

Some people here are getting awfully defensive over a fairly simple question.

    Explain to me.

Same reason I like films and books. They can be entertaining and thought-provoking.
    pokemon is not anime

Incorrect. The word 「アニメ」 ("anime") is an abbreviation of the Japanese pronunciation of the English word "animation". The pokemon cartoons are Japanese-style animation, therefore anime.

    pokemon is not anime

i fail to see what your point is

Pokemon is anime. If it wasn't, it wouldn't be listed on animenewsnetwork and anidb.

hardly a good examples - the first is a fan made video made as a parody of 80's tv animation while the second is a feature film produced by a professional studio.

My reasin for posting the first one was because so many people have beleived that it is in fact an 80s cartoon opening. I was assuming that it is how the OP views cartoons and using Akira as an example of adult animation.

I was going to use Thundercats or Ulysse 31 as my example but both them still stand up to repeat viewing today.

    Explain to me.

I think I'll entertain your inane view of our vibrantly coloured lands of JOY!

I like cartoons because they entertain me within the deepest corners of my meager, childlike brain. I am an uneducated idiot with the I.Q. of a 10 year old. The colours and flashing lights make me happy.

In closing, DERP DERP I LOEV DEM CARTEWNS!!!!!

A few of you have suggested that Ass separate the content from the medium. It's funny though that I know a small number of people who watch these cartoons, south park, family guy, futurama, the simpsons and if they watch one, they tend to watch them all. The vast majority of people I know don't watch any of them. I appreciate that this observation is limited to people I know, so it is far from exhaustive. Difficult to argue the decernment of content from medium in this cross section. Just a thought.

Most adults that watch the simpsons don't seem to watch any other cartoons.

Excuse my ignorance but in the context being used here, what is a troll. I could guess but I may be wrong.
