We will be camping in France, Switz (Montreux??) and Italy. We will then hopefully be campin in Sardinia for a week before returning home.. We will be staying in hotels here and there but mostly camping on official campsites. Does anyone have any tips with regard to pests, insects and larger wildlife we should be aware of before going?? :D Many thanks

Mozzies Mozzies Mozzies. Drop into a Carrefour when you hit France and stock up on Mozzy spray. Make sure you get one with at least 8 hour night time coverage so it does not wear off overnight giving the mozzies a chance to party down on your skin/blood.

There are snakes on the continent but they would find it pretty difficult to open the tent zip, like most animals you will find.

If you are staying in registered campsites then fear not, most animals will find their way over to the camp site bins and leave you well alone.

Speaking from experience with around 1 month per year on a campsite in France every year for 15 damn years as a child.
