Anyone have any opinions on AGI? They are on a hell of a roll this last 3weeks. Possibly a good speculative buy?!

Rezular is an AGI drug, It should help AGI shares to climb much higher.

    - FDA confirmed RezularTM's eligibility and associated requirements to
qualify for 5 year market exclusivity in US.

They are also working with Axcan Pharma Inc. to introduce another important drug into a specific market that generates up to 20 billion dollars in sales.

    AGI Theraputics

Rezular (AGI-003) is an orally administered multiple-mechanism intestinal regulator, a first-in-class mechanism for the treatment of diarrhoea-predominant irritable bowel syndrome (IBS-D), and the product is in Phase III clinical trials for this major unmet medical need. Rezular contains arverapamil, a single enantiomer moiety of the racemic drug verapamil. Unlike the currently available commercial forms of racemic verapamil (a mixture of two enantiomers), Rezular shows a dominant activity in treating the symptoms of IBS-D without the traditional cardiovascular actions of the racemic drug. The efficacy and safety of Rezular in IBS patients has already been established in a Phase II clinical trial.

Irritable bowel syndrome comprises a cluster of gastrointestinal symptoms which are likely to be life-long and which affect between 10% and 20% of the population in developed markets.

As a small cap pharma company there are always going to be risky - I think the use of the word speculative is apt. I think it is difficult almost impossible to put a good value on these shares. I would like to see a brokers report.

However if the news is good on rezular, I think they are a good buy, even at the current price, but I still almost think investing in them is almost like venture capital, and indeed look at their shareholders ACT Seroba etc.

The only thing about Rezular is I wonder if verapamil will gain acceptance as GI treatment - the stereoisomer could be perfectly safe and effective but people may still have reservations with the racemic micture being used as a cardivascaular drug.

I have thought about buying them myself, but I doubted my judgement when they were at .20

Thanks for your opinions pirelli and thebang, have decided to take a chance on them, may have to leave them long term to reap the rewards (if any)

    good luck with that.
Overall I think their strategy is good. They are going with something that I think will be more more likely to gain regulatory approval then something totally novel.
Added to this, a lot of investors seem to be under the assumption that you need to reinvent the wheel to make money in pharmaceuticals, when a lot of the most successful drugs, financially speaking, are the me toos.
This is why I am drawn towards AGI rather than Merrion. The latter seem to have some good prospects ( I think their alendronate fomualtion sounds great), but when they talk about producing oral insulin, I tend to think its hyperbole considering how many have tried and failed before and just generally gives me a bad feeling.

    Or maybe not.

The drug was the driving force behind AGI Therapeutics. The London stock price has jumped about like this before and settled back up although there was nothing negative there at the time. How a drug that had no statistical effects even got to phase III is incredible.

Will the climb back tomorrow do you think?

I hope you can recover quickly from it or at best leave it for a long haul. the price is back to where it started close to 0.20 cent. This was an additional disappointment on top of poor bank results and a tentative situation with finances for many stocks this week.
