acoustic bass??

    hi, i'm lookin to buy an acoustic bass but am a bit lost on what makes are good for a quality acoustic sound.. also am i better off buying an acoustic bass or semi acoustic?

    I bought one of these on a whim a few years ago. I practice on it exclusively now. If I'm playing with other people I use an electric.
    If you put it through an amp it's going to be significantly quieter than an electric.
    If you're playing with an acoustic guitar player or any other acoustic instruments you'll be struggling to be heard, unless there's complete silence.
    I doubt there's that much of a difference between an acoustic and a semi-acoustic.

    Acoustic basses come in all different scale lengths and body shapes. Itd be worth trying out a few to suss out what you feel most comfortable with. I've gigged a borrowed one of those tanglewood basses and theyre very nice. I'd also recommend cort.
