Id like to upgrade my wheels. I currently have a pair of Gipiemme Techno 024s. They have given my no problems, don't flex that I notice and still run true. They are 2nd hand and I've done about 2K kms on them I'm thinking Campagnolo Scirocco G3 Wheel Set how do they compare to the Tehcno 024s? I weight about 180lbs so the wheels need to be strong.

Secondly I have an aluminium frame bike with carbon forks. Does carbon degade over time I'd like to get a carbon frame bike but would expect it to last a decade. Is that realistic?

    Thanks

Carbon does not inherently degrade over time, aluminium incidentally does to an extent, this is not to say an aluminium frame cannot last several decades. I could certainly imagine you riding a carbon frame you buy today in ten years time, I know at least one person who rides a metal lugged carbon Look that is over 10 years old. The only real issue with carbon is the possibility of crash damage, aluminium tends to deform (dent or bend) while carbon while being stronger is perhaps more susceptible to catastrophic failure.

I certainly wouldn't worry about buying a carbon frame, I have had two carbon road bikes in the past myself and my current MTB is carbon.
