A dvd is 4.7G capacity so it should fit. Are you sure you haven't select a cd in Nero? btw does 1.36 min mean 1hr and 36mins?

You're converting to DVD format. This will substantially increase the size. To offset this you can reduce the quality (and this will get the size below your DVD). I'm not sure how to do this in nero. Someone else will be along shortly to fill you in. :)

    Avi2Dvd (Freeware) (donations accepted)

    Try using: http://www.trustfm.net/divx/SoftwareAvi2Dvd.php

Free. Safe to use. No piracy required.

See how you get on, looks fairly simple. The software is popular and has been tweaked over a number of years, it might deal with any quirks better than Nero.
