    Hi folks,

Would anyone know where to get a hair dye in this shade? I've been looking on the net all morning but can't find 'chocolate brown' anywhere. It's driving me mad.

    Thanks for any help.

Use Iced Chocolate from L'Oreal -you can usually get it in Boots.

Careful though, if you leave any 'brown' or 'dark brown' on too long it will go black. Even supposed semi's will then need to be professionally 'cleansed' (stripped with peroxide) which is harsh on the hair.

I found Iced chocolate the only one that was actually dark rich brown. All the rest say dark rich brown on the box but come out jet black and will not lift.

L'Oreal do a "chocolate brown" colour in their new ten minute range hair colour. It's the nicest colour I've ever put in my hair - really rich and shiny. And it only takes ten mins! Don't be tempted to leave in longer than that though - it really will get scarily dark.

The only time I dyed my hair before was when I wanted a lovely chocolate brown. But argh it was very very very dark DARK brown, it was not a good look! Especially coz I'm so pale. Now I get a few blonde highlights every now and again as they suit my skin tone better.

So yes - be careful with the brown that you choose!

I use Loreal Preference Brasilia for the past 3 years and love it!! So so rich but again...don't leave it in too long unless you want an almost black colour!!

Everytime I use it loads of people ask me if I got my hair cut coz it makes my hair look so healthy...bonus!!

OMG Brasilia sounds strangely like the colour I put in my hair!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That name seems to ring a bell!

    Yes it was almost black!

Hey girls sorry to highjack the post, haven't dyed my hair in years and want to put a choccy brown colour in, will check out the ones recommended in this thread. Just wondering if you will get the same result when you dye it yourself as a professional colour? Will your hair condition deteriorate more so if you're dyeing your hair at home than if you were getting it done at a salon? Have long hair and am thinking that if I start dyeing it I'll cut it shorter to keep it in better condition but like it as it is. Cheers!
