Travel insurance advice

So I was in Majorca with my wife and baby last week, on a short Ryanair induced getaway.

We were flying back to Dublin on Saturday evening, so I drove our hire car towards Palma, and, since we had enough time, decided to stop on the way to visit the Palma Aquarium.

We came out of the Aquarium and proceeded to our car, to find the rear window had been smashed and all of our three suitcases had been stolen. Thanks very much.

The suitcases were on the back seat - the boot was too small to fit them in. So, all gone. Clothes, €200 in cash, house key, car key, wife's hair dryer etc, baby's items and clothes. Loads besides.

The whole experience was very upsetting. Worst was that I, quite stupidly, failed to get travel insurance.

Question I'm asking is, what travel insurance (or company), would be recommended, in case something like this happens again? I mean, cover for theft of property from a hire car. I know nothing about travel insurance policies. I've had a look around online, but have found some of the policy wording ambiguous. I want to buy an annual, multi-trip type policy, in case an incident like this happens again.
