We currently receive our RTE from Mount Leinster on VHF with a roof aerial.
As far as I've read, all of the DTT transmissions are on UHF.
Does this mean they'll start beaming UHF in our direction or can they put the DTT onto a VHF signal?

They can put DTT on VHF technically, but all the DTT multiplexes allocated for Ireland are on UHF. Mt. Leinster DTT is on UHF Group B.

Thanks for that, I suppose we'll have to put up a UHF aerial along with the VHF one, unless they give us analogue UHF signals as well.

According to the info sheets from RTE only RTE1 and RTE2 are on VHF from Mt. Leinster. TV3 and TG4 are on UHF. This is all analogue. Where/how do you get TV3/TG4 at the moment?

Depending on your distance etc. from the transmitter, you might need only a simple UHF set-up for DTT.

We don't, other than by satellite.

We're about 50 miles from Mt. Leinster, we're pretty close to Kippure but there's a mountain in the way.

If you put up a UHF aerial for Mount Leinster then you will find TG4 on channel 23 and TV3 on channel 26

That's worth a try, thanks. I did put up a UHF aerial when the deflector was operating but that was years ago.
