The uber metal has three modes to it, one kinda mushy with tonnes of distortion, one kinda contemporary crunch, one kinda like an early 80's Marshall. All three are useable, personally I favour the crunch mode, it has a nice mid presence to it, really, really nice, think of Megadeth tone from the last 10 years and you're in the right area. The built in noise gate is also a winning feature. I use it now instead of - Double Muff - Metal Zone - H&K Warp Factor - DOD Thrash Master - and a couple of other pedals whose models I can't recall. Tried out a load of pedals, the uber metal was the one which finally gave me a tone I could live with.

Played the uber metal extensivly when it first came out(didnt own it myself but a freind o mine lent it to me for a while). Tbh it was better than most other pedals i played but i found my amps distorsion worked better by itself(randall Rg75). I dunno ive just gone anti distorsion pedals myself... Id rather just try and tweak the amps sound. Then again if your amps disto is crap id deffo go for it.
