    SKS Renkompressor

This is a bit more expensive but it is the daddy of track pumps - had mine for seven or eight years now, replaced the pump head twice, still going strong. Gets me up to 100psi+ almost effortlessly, have no doubt it could go much higher, and in the event of someone breaking into your house, you could beat them senseless with it with no risk of damaging the pump.

I had a Joe Blow track pump at one stage but it crapped out after a year. I'm not sure that's typical though - usually Topeak gear is pretty good.

I bought on from CRC and it didn't work (leaks through the base). I haven't sent it back yet.

I replaced it with a Park track pump, which whilst slightly less flashy (no folding feet) does the job perfectly.

+1 Joe Blow, I have the Sprint which is nice with the dial at the top of the barrel. Very easy to inflate.

Thanks for your post. I had a look at that pump too but drew a line at spending that much cash! :)

Yeah, I might too at that price - mine only cost me something like US$27 which wasn't much even in 2001. Also, Lumen's post would give me pause for thought.

    Thanks for all the replies!

So three people with that specific Joe Blow pump eh? Very interesting.

Am I a sucker for falling in love the design of the Lezyne?

No way...wooden pump handle, need I say more? I don't know Lezyne at all though - anyone else familiar with them?

I know it's hard, but save the wife and children first, then go back for the bike.

I just bought a Lezyne mini pump to complement my Axiom Kompressair track pump, after doing obsessive compulsive internet research.

Lezyne gets only good reviews, and the mini-pump is great, very well put together. It's teeny too, so tucks away in a jersey pocket.

The Kompressair is excellent too, was a tad pricey at the time, but worth it. It has a gauge, and goes up to 11 :pac:
