Right, so we have a date, now to see how many people have decided that the recession will not impinge on their social life. A venue will be announced shortly, but now that we have a date we can start to get some numbers, so please indicate whether or not you'll be in attendance.

Karma Bar, Handels Hotel, Fishamble Street
    Time - 5.30pm
Booked under the name of Brian Garry

Edit: Somebody forgot to mention Condensed Milk. Tut. Tut.

Tradition dictates that newbies must bring a can of Condensed Milk with them. No excuses.

Remember, it is for your own protection. Why? Answer here.

Will you be attending the BGRH Recessionary Beers? 33 votes

What recession? Of course I'll be there!

As has happened for the last umpteen beers, life is looking like trumping me again (I'm going to get a Walter mitty reputation on here!)
Anyhooos, my buddy in work has handed in his notice this week and will retire on the 22nd May. I've worked beside him for the last 18 years, so no way I'm missing his retirement do. I dont mind admitting to the brethern that I will miss him a lot, he has been an absolute howl to work with.
so, unless he wants to have his do on a different date, I am once again out for BGRH beers.

PS What's with the Bebo style name there young Zaph? Annoying the powers that be again?

    Tell me more i.e.
    what's the age range?
    Both sexes?
    Small group/large crowd?
How do we know each other?
    Anything else I should know?

I am new to the boards.

    -any age over 18
    -both sexes
-depends on how many are going, see the poll up the top?
-most people will know each other from boards, moreso from the BGRH forum (that you're in now)
-just that this is a gathering of boardsies, usually fun, get to know others and mingle

Going to your first BGRH beers can be very scarry.
Best advice I can give you is:

    GO! :D

PM one of the mods, or me, and they/I will meet you outside the venue, so that you don't have to walk into a room full of wierd stangers. They will also introduce you to a lot of the people there.

If you have an interest in drinking beer and having an enjoyable evening, you will not be dissapointed.

Somebody had better decide where this is going to be or if we can book an area somewhere because Zaph is in danger of having a house party. And if that happens I think I'll be in trouble.

I'd decide only I have no idea where anywhere in Dublin is.

You can all come to my gaffe. Just bring yourselves, whatever bevvies and grub you want. It's on the sunny northside in Dublin 13! Musical instruments are also welcome including guitars but excluding fiddles and accordions.

Are there any requests or is that too open a question? I retain the right to veto!

NonE of you know me except for P.C. and Gordon but you have time now to get to know me if you want and check my credentials.

Tommy, Lucy Lu. P.C. and Gordon and defo invited because they come highly recomended.

    BEWARE OF THE DOG!:D:D

Walk!?!!?! I think you've mistaken me for someone who walks to chippers. If they don't deliver then I'm just going to have to drink another pint instead. Sure it's probably got more protien or something useful like that in it anyway.
