Ok i fooked up and installed some program called "Thumbnailer Lite" which was supposed to be able to give .mp4s and .flvs thumbnail previews in Windows Explorer, it didn't work so i uninstalled it but its after fooking up my thumbnail previews for other filetypes now

I had CCCP installed, so i uninstalled/reinstalled that and that brought back the .avi thumbnail previews but i can't get .mpg and .wmv thumbnails back working

    Any ideas?

ps I've tried switching the file associations and all that crack

Nope, unless Vista saves restore points automatically?

Yup, go to the start menu and type restore in the search box

Install the k-lite codec pack full version. It has an option during install to get Vista to display thumbnails for files. Vista will not display thumbnails for any mp4 files, I think explorer is only designed to create thumbnails for native windows media player formats, avi, wmv, etc. It will also allow You play absolutely any file.

I got wmv thumbs working, its just mpg/mpeg that are not
    Don't really want to "restore"
Some guy gave me his reg file for the wmv and the mpg and only the wmv worked out

I have klite installed and that didn't help
