Silent guitar

I'm interested in learning the guitar, but I live in a small apartment surrounded by lots of people, and really don't want to piss off my neighbours. Plus, I'll mostly be practicing at night.

I'm not keen to spend more than a couple of hundred euro until I get good. Is it possible to play a regular electric guitar through headphones, or would it be a good idea to go for something like this:

Your best bet would be a Yamaha Pacifica and a microcube.

That will let you play amplified (quietly) or use headphones.

just dont plug ur electric in, or get a pod or pocketpod or something, dent sounds and you can plug it into anything with a line in, sounds pretty decent

I wouldn't get that guitar you posted, it looks more like a gimmick than a proper guitar, plus at that price I don't think it would play well.
Generally electric guitars are very quiet acoustically, they make very little noise. You can plug any electric guitar you like into a Line 6 pod or similar effects units and get to use it with headphones and it would be fine for playing in a apartment.

Line 6 Pocket pod €90. 2nd hand Yamaha Pacifica or similar €150. Guitar cable €10. Sorted! Plug your guitar into the Pod, plug your headphones into your POD and away you go. Loads of great sounds from Clean to Dirty with chorus and delay etc, and a built in tuner which is needed for a beginner. Trust me you'll love it!
