SsangYong Rodius

If/when we can afford a new(er) family car, my wife is keen on the SsangYong Rodius, as the back row has 3 seats, allowing kids to get in and out easier (we have four kids...).
From my perspective, Im not too worried about image, or speed etc.
In a car, my key concerns are realibility and safety. Mainly, I want the car to be well built and reliable. For this reason my instinct would be for a Japanese car.
Any feedback from any family with one of these cars?

Never heard anything bad reliability wise. but i do know of someone trying (unsuccessfully) to offload one due to high road tax & MPG wise.
It means u should be able to pick one up cheap thou

As ugly as Susan Boyle. But doesn't sing. Just about the Dullest thing you can buy.

Only good thing about it is that it's cheap, and Comfy.

Try a Renault Scenic 1.5 dci... especially the 7 seater Grand Scenic. Good, torquey engine, good economy, well equipped and comfy. Might break a bit more, but then Renaults are getting better for that in the last year or so. It certainly looks a lot better than a Korean econobox.

If you get a Rodious, It'll be like your wedding ring!! with you for life!
Unless you plan on keeping it for 20 years, I wouldnt!
    They are 100% sale-proof

What about a Ford Galaxy? Think they can be go fairly cheap from the UK, or a Mazda 5? The back two seats aint the biggest in the Mazda 5 though

Unless you need a HUGE mpv, It's hard to recommend the Rodius. the engine and gearbox are the only good things in the car, and they're not exactly amazing either.
