as nobody else seems to have posted about it yet.......

    http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2055544926

Bill not published yet, but approved. Remember, this bill will most likely affect both real steel and ourselves. Try to play nice if making any comments.:)

*Just to clarify as per Dr. Pepper's post below - this is the Misc. bill 2008 which had not been approved........I named the thread 2009 as it's to be set in stone this year.

There is no info as to what is contained in the bill. It could be another week before it released to the general public.

Sci-ops has already said that. I think he was just letting people who didn't know anything at all (like me) know that theres a new bill being published.

Thanks for the headup fellas however this isnt a new bill, infact this Miscellaneous Provisions Bill was being drafted in december of 2008.
The content should be the same. Looks like the gov were busy fire fighting the economy meltdown so it got put on the back burner until now.

Yep. And I was just clarifying, so there isn't 30 pages of inert ramblings about potentially nothing.

Again I wasn't having a go, just clarifying.

No one is talking in loops. We don't know anything yet. I hasn't been released....

The initial proposal for the bill was made late last year by the minister of justice, Dermot Ahern. In that proposal he talked about an outright ban on airsoft guns.

But since then, both Mr Ahern and the IAA have been in talks with each other. The minister now has a better understanding of the sport. An understanding that extends a little further than the portrayal in the media.

So I think we can safely say, at this stage, we know absolutely nothing about the contents of the bill. At least nothing that will relate to and effect airsoft. Due to the work IAA has done on our behalf, it is safe to assume the consequences will not be too harsh..... at least we all hope.

    The above is true.

When the bill is published and IF it effects Airsoft we will have a discussion based on it then.

At the moment there is no point in a thread that does nothing but speculate about what might be in the bill.

As soon as the bill is published a thread will be started on the topic.

I would prefer if we can start the thread with a link to the bill itself and details of it's contents rather than 5 pages of speculation then a link that many people may miss and find themselves arguing about what is merely rumour and hearsay.

When the bill is published and if it effects Airsoft we can debate it then.

Thread closed till we are certain of the contents of this bill
