    Hi all
Was in a minor crash yesterday but front of my 1997 fiesta got wrecked. Afraid to drive it again so going to get rid of it. It is in perfect condition except for damage at front. Want to bring it to scrap yard but it can be used for parts. Who should i go to who won't charge me to take the car and can use it themselves for parts? Am in limerick

    Thanks

Its worth about 200 euro to a scrap yard .Ask a local mechanic about scrapyards in your area.

No it's not worth 200 euro !!!! Since the dismantlers now need EPA licenses, all the mechanics with a field of cars behind their workshops are gone. The approved dismantlers will NOT pay for a car like OP's Fiesta. They will sell minimal parts off that age of a car, and will have to remove all fluids etc before recycling. Talk to one sometime about the costs of becoming EPA compliant ... it's scary.

OP, if you want to PM me I can pass you details of a Limerick breaker that would take the car off you if you wanted. However he is very unlikely to give you anything for it, and if he had to collect it from you he would charge you for towing. If it's still driving you could drive it out to him and there would be no payment either way.

OP, is it still driving? Would a few panels from the scrappie sort it?

If its just panel damage there isn't any reason why it wouldn't be ok afterwards

Park her up near Moyross and take the numberplates off. It will be disposed of in the usual manner ;)
