how much of a job is it to make an exhaust quieter? got an e30 with a scorpio exhaust nd while i like it, it could do with being a little bit quieter..

people can make cars quieter for trackdays so i'm hoping there's something i can do?

you could get a powerflow exhaust... expensive but will be exactly what you want

you may be able get a bung for the scorpio exhaust, it will fit into the exhaust to block it partially and quieten it down.

alternatively do you know if the car has been decatted? if so get a normal or high flow cat back into it.

gonna drop down to an exhaust garage later nd see what the craic is..

i was hoping to keep this fairly inexpensive since i just bought the car. feeling rather broke for a while.. what's the story with butterfly valves?

exhaust bung or theres a crowd in Blackrock iirc, that can retroweld in a silencer mid way through the exhaust, that should do the trick.

blueflame sell weld in silencer and any half reasonable exhaust centre will be able to weld them in.

If you have de-catted use a de-cat silencer rather than a straight pipe.

Another option is an Apexi ECV

While bungs work they make your car sound like its farting and reduce performance.

gonna cost me round 280 to get a stock exhaust put on.. got 3 quotes and that's the cheapest.

can't fekin wait ta get it tho.. gonna keep the old one i think so at least when i sell the car, i can say it has a second albeit rusty scorpio exhaust.
