Audio from tv channel coming through on DVR

    Hi
I'm having a problem recently with the sound from whatever channel is set on the TV coming through faintly while watching a channel (or playing back a recording) on a dvd recorder.

The Scart lead is coming from the TV to the dvd recorder and appears to be carrying the audio from the tv channel.

So... when I'm playing back a recording or watching a channel "through" the dvd recorder I can also hear the channel from the tv very faintly. To put it into perspective - if I pause the playback of a recording and put the volume up really high I can hear whatever the TV is set to.

Any ideas? Could this be a faulty Scart lead? Or too many leads near each other touching off each other?

    Thanks.

seems to be "audio breakthrough" from scart, minimised by making sure scart absolutely pushed into its slot. Probably should buy a better quality shielded scart.

Short-term solution: before you switch on your DVD, switch the TV channel to a blank frequency (one showing snow, or store the the pilot carrier at 440MHz onto a spare programme number). Then start your DVD.

Probably SCART crosstalk like what podgeandrodge said, usually caused by poor shielding in the SCART cable. If you don't normally use the analogue cable on your TV any more you can just unplug it
