Does anyone know where I can get a handbook on dealing with the FOI act? Or if one even exists? There seem to be plenty aimed at Britain, I can't find one for Ireland.

Yep. There is one on the Department of Finance website.

    http://www.finance.gov.ie/viewdoc.asp?fn=/documents/foi/foiman0.htm

It seems every public body has their own manual.

Hi, I'm not sure where to post this so sorry if this is the wrong forum. I want a written reply from the planning office where they will stand over claims they made on the telephone. The woman actually said that I would not get a written reply from the planning office. They do not want to commit themselves in writing because the information was incorrect. What can I do to make them send me a written reply? Is there a statute or something similar? Many thanks for any help.
