Team Fortress 2

I havent been able to play a single match in this yet. Any time i look for a game or try to join one it says "unable to connect to the game server, please try again". Ive tried a dozen time today and yesterday. Did anyone else have a problem joining a game or have any suggestions?

There is an issue with Team fortress 2 and having more than 40 people on your friends list.

I have about 40 and I've had no trouble.

The only time I've had trouble was when I had loads of people on the friends list. When I deleted some it was ok.

Other than that ,I've had no trouble.:(

Ill delete a couple of friends and try again. Its so bad that it just doesnt work tho

I doubt if you have only 10 or so it will make a difference. I think it has something to do with the ps3 and the network.
There was problems with wipeout HD when it was first released ,with too many people on the friends list. But it was fixed soon enough with an update for the game.

Maybe your problem is a firewall issue with the ea servers ,I don't know much about that stuff though:o

Yeah i just deleted half my friends and it made no difference. Its so frustrating.

This is something I had tried to fix it aswell. Port forwarding.

Tried to forward my port (is that the correct terminology) but couldn't cause of eircom so im gonna have to go post something in the tech forum now.

Sorry to bump an old thread but me and my cousin are having the exact same problem. I'm with eircom, dunno who my cousin's with, but from what I've been reading it seems to be an EA problem rather than eircom or w/e. Did you ever get it sorted? Anyone got any ideas?

I've tried deleting friends and creating a new PSN account with a new email address. Nothing. My cousin got it to work for him randomly one day but it hasn't worked since.

TF2 on the PS3 is, tbh, terrible. It's a fun game, but Valve nor EA want to have anything to do with The Orange box on PS3

Get it on Xbox or PC. PC version is highly recommended

Hey TheAmateur unfortunately no i never got this resolved, eventually i just gave up. Its **** to think that you buy a game from a trusted developer like EA and theres no support offered when it wont work. Im having the same problem with Red FAction Guerrila at the moment. I tried deleting friends etc and it didnt work either. If you find a fix for the problem be sure to post it here.

Thanks for the replies. Seems like an awful issue, from the other threads i've been reading on it. The only problem that has a definite solution is the friends list glitch, which is a different problem altogether. I read that it worked for someone when they disabled UPnP but seeing as it might work once every 60 tries anyway, maybe it was a false positive. Ah well. At least resistance 2 still works!

Great news, i was able to finally get this working.

I used this link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JugGe7CCuNU to change the nat type of my wireless connection and hey presto all the games id previous connection problems with are all working fine.

Seriously i love my PS3 but you have no business on the PS3 version of orange box.

The PC has really cool mods and a great community following (check out the rtd (roll the dice) server its unreal!). TF2 in €20 on steam and worth every cent of it. And any piece of crap computer can make it look good!
