Anyone know if VW Ireland are taking orders on these?

You can price them on the UK site but as usual things are not so up to date on the Irish one.

Anyone got a pricelist or release date?

Any info is welcome, Google wasn't too helpful for once :)

I haven't heard anything concrete, just a vague mid-late summer launch. I'd expect prices to be similar to the MKV (and the new Scirocco, which incidentally, I've heard has been a huge flop for VW Ireland so far), i.e. starting at around 36k!
Again, though, just like the MKV, the spec will be a bit less than generous, so you could easily spend several grand more if you want 18" wheels, leather, Xenons, DSG, etc, etc.

The VW website has always been rubbish, and as for the dealers... I'll say no more.

EDIT - I was talking to an irish car journo a few weeks ago, who had had a spin in a new one and he reckoned it was brilliant.

I've only seen one Scirocco on the road! I was a little disappointed by the new Golf styling, but the GTi looks better than the standard model!

Yeh im not too fond of the standard mk6 styling, but something about the GTI really appeals to me.

Is there going to be an updated Jetta soon as the Golf has been updated? I haven't been able to keep up to date with new releases lately! Jetta never became that popular really, nice car though!

Did you just come out of a long coma or something?

You should ask yourself that same question!

    Well I'll be f***ed :o

For some reason I thought they went in the bin years ago.

Not even out of the trade a year and I've forgotten it all

I hear the MK6 Golf GTI will be out late summer here but maybe sooner.

And the Jetta was launched a couple of years after the Golf so I'd say there's no replacement/update for at least a year or two.

    Orange pilled.

It didn't become popular because it was priced within a grand of the Passat for the same engine. Which was silly.

I reckon its going to be momumentally expensive when it does get here. Its about 3k STG more expensive in the UK than the MK V (even though some of this is due to exchange rates)
