Hotels, Restaurants and Bars in Donabate

    Hi all,

I'm planning a two day stay in Donabate in the next 6-8 weeks with my wife and another couple. We like our food and pints and craic. During each day myself and the other lad will play golf (Corbalis twice or perhaps somewhere else if anyone wants to recommend somewhere?) and the girls will chill out walking the beach, having coffee, having lunch, maybe getting a facial etc until we''re back from golf at which point we'll head out for a nice meal and then good pints in a good local pub.

It's kind of joint celebration of his 50th and my 40th so I'd like to tap into the knowledgebase here and ask for recommendations in relation to:-

    1. Where to stay? (Waterside House Hotel?)
    2. Where to eat?
    3. Where to go for pints?
    4. What the girls can do during the day?
    5. Where other than Corbalis can we play golf that won't cost a packet?

    All suggestions gratefully received.

    Regards,

    Ben

Re: Golf, not sure if you'll have a car with you but Baltray is about 25 miles from Donabate and is one of the best courses in the country, at least links wise. It has held the Irish Open several times and is also Des Smyth's home club.
Regarding the other Q's you might get a better response and knowledge over on the Dublin forums. There'll be plenty of Donabate locals there who can advise you. If you PM a Mod and ask kindly they will move the thread rather than double posting.
