Spraying Roses

Has anyone any experience of, or have you seen heard of anyone spraying roses?
I have my heart set on purple roses for my wedding as purple roses signify love at first sight. (Myself and my fiance had decided to get married before the main course arrived on our first date....we'd met the weekend before through friends and had the hotel booked 2 weeks later)
I dont want lilac roses which is what some florists have suggested. I would like roses as 'purple' or as voilet as possible.
Is it a hard thing to do, have done? Does anyone know of any florists in the midlands who have done such a thing either?

Any help or advice great appreciated x x

Have never heard of spraying roses but im sure its possible another option for you maybe would be to have silk flowers. Ive seen pictures of these with real brides & you would never know the difference, goodluck in your search :)

Good idea, but the dye will dye the stalks too, so she might get it on her dress, and I've done this with carnations, and only so much dye will be "drank" by the plant, not dark enough for the OP.

You could buy some roses and try spraying them, but imagine most chemical based sprays would either make them look really fake, or disingerate the petals.

There's a few rose types out there that range from dark purple to nearly black, I grow Ebb Tide myself, maybe ring up different florists and specific what shade you want exactly since the exact shade will depend on the plant's heritage etc.
